If you are unable to login to your account for any reason, please follow these steps:
- Finger the account that you are trying to log into. Accounts that are not
used for 30 days are automatically removed by the system. If the account name is
not found by the finger program, then you may recreate the account by telneting
to M-Net and entering newuser at the login: prompt.
You can use your own telnet client or use our web-based secure shell client.
- If the account you are trying to log into exists on M-Net, send E-Mail to
usradm@arbornet.org. Please include the name of the account you are trying to
log into as well as an E-Mail address where you may be reached, (you may have
to create a new, temporary account on M-Net if you do not have another E-Mail
address). You will then be asked to verify that you are the owner of the account.
If you are unable to be verified, you will not be given the password to the account
and you will have to wait up to 30 days for the account to be removed at which point
you may create it again.
